TOWN OF LITTLETON
BOARD OF SELECTMEN'S MEETING
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2008
4:15 PM
TOWN OFFICE CONFERENCE ROOM
Present: Chairman Eddy Moore, Vice Chairman Bill Latulip, Selectman Ed Boynton, Executive Secretary Ceil Stubbings
Others Present: Chad Stearns, Duncan McKee, Robert Blechl, Mary Edick, Ron Bolt, Jerry Eames, Bruce Hadlock, Art McGrath, George Winn, Neil Stafford
Chairman Eddy Moore called the meeting to order at 4:15 PM. Chairman Moore advised those present that the purpose of the meeting was in regards to the Main Street bid. Chairman Moore said the Board would like to consider rejecting the bid submitted in October. The economy has changed since then and the Board believes they can get a better price by rebidding the project.
Jerry Eames asked if this step would affect the options of the survey. Chairman Moore advised that it would not change the options of the survey. The survey would still be taken into consideration. This led into a discussion regarding the options available to complete the project. Several citizens expressed concerns regarding the time frame of the rebidding. Overall there were no objections to the rebidding of the project with several citizens saying the Board was doing their due diligence and that it was the prudent thing to do financially.
Vice Chairman Bill Latulip placed the motion to reject RD Edmonds & Son's bid for the Main Street Project and to put the project out for a rebid. Selectman Ed Boynton seconded the motion.
The motion passed 3-0.
The meeting adjourned at 5:00 PM
Respectfully submitted
