Feedback from Last Meeting:
Bolt advised the board had four takeaway items from the last meeting. The first were the lessons learned from the flood. The town is going to create or find new flood maps. The board also discussed a date for the A to Z Land Forum, which has been postponed indefinitely due to a lack of interest. The board reviewed police coverage for parades and determined they would most likely offer a warrant article asking for the public's support. The other item was to decide on the dates and locations for the budget and deliberative session. The town manager has suggested we try to hold the deliberative session on a Saturday and asked for feedback from the public. Boynton said he was told to leave it alone and that he has heard pro's and con's. Bolt said he had also received many mixed views. He was led told this was tried several years ago but it was a flop so he is inclined to go back to the traditional Monday. Connell noted the Deliberative Session would be the 7th of February at the High School. Bolt then provided a list of the activities since their last meeting. They had several budget prep meetings and meetings with the budget committee that will continue until December. They had a mid year performance review with the town manager and several nonpublic meetings in regards to the town managers contract. They met with the DRA to set the tax rate. The official tax rate is $22.83.
